Murrayfield Racers are delighted to announce that Marty Simpson will be back on the blueline for the club this season.
Simpson initially joined the Racers from Kirkcaldy Kestrels ahead of the 2019/20 campaign and soon established himself as a key part of the defensive unit.
He netted 20 goals with 23 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions to help the club win two trophies.
The 23-year-old agreed to sign for Dundee Comets this summer and will continue to play for them in the NIHL North Cup if required.
However, Simpson says he is looking forward to getting back onto the ice with the Racers in Scottish Ice Hockey competitions.
“It’s been a long break, but I’m sure once the first few training sessions are over, all the rust will be gone,” he said.
“I want to keep improving my game this season and hope we can win some more silverware.
“Playing in the NIHL North Cup with the Comets has been great for getting back up to speed.
“I appreciate what they have done for me the last few months – they are a great group of guys.”
