Wright keen to get back to business after frustrating first season with the Racers

Murrayfield Racers have confirmed the seventh addition to their roster, with Jack Wright returning for another campaign with the club.

Administrative issues and a serious shoulder injury interrupted his first season with the club, but he is now ready to show fans what he can do.

Wright initially signed for the Racers in 2019, having spent the previous three seasons with Villars HC in Switzerland. He also represented Great Britain in skiing.

After being hindered in his attempts to fully showcase his talents, the 22-year-old hopes to play a key role for the Racers this season.

“I’ve mostly been in Switzerland during lockdown,” he said. “It’s been very frustrating not being able to play hockey.

“I’m back in Edinburgh now at university, and everything slowly seems to be getting back to normal, which is great.

“I was disappointed that we haven’t been able to get on the ice at Murrayfield, but of course it’s been out of our hands.

“However, it seems as though we will be able to shortly, and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’m a bit worried about how rusty I’ll be during the first few sessions, but I’m sure we’ll get back to normal play soon.”
