Murrayfield Racers are pleased to announce that netminder Euan Simpson has signed for the club.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut for Kirkcaldy Kestrels during the 2016/17 campaign and soon established himself as a regular starter in the Scottish National League.
Simpson was on the winning side for the Kestrels in seven of his 13 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20 and also shone at U20 level.
He recorded a 91.4 save percentage as Fife Falcons claimed the league title with a 100% record.
The young goalie has represented Scotland at all junior levels and featured in the last two U19 national squads that faced England in Sheffield.
Simpson signed for the Racers last summer, but the cancellation of the season scuppered his hopes of playing.
“I’m delighted to be playing for Murrayfield this year and finally get back on the ice after what feels like a lifetime,” he said.
“I’m extremely excited that we have the chance to battle for the league again this year and really get off to a good start on the road.
“It’s been very hard throughout these 18 months, but I have been working hard.
“I’ve stayed focused on getting back on the ice, and the off-season training has gone on since last March to give myself the best possible season I can.
“I believe we can build on the success of the previous two seasons and get the ball rolling right away.
“I’m very keen to challenge myself and believe I can keep improving with the Racers.
“When the time comes, we will put on a show for the Racers fans who are well overdue some great hockey.”
