Grigors back in the fold as Racers start assembling their roster

Murrayfield Racers are delighted to confirm that influential ‘D’ man Rihards Grigors has agreed another year with the club.

Grigors helped the team win four trophies during his previous two seasons and is eager to add more to his tally this time around.

The-29-year-old finished as the third-highest points scorer for the Racers in 2019/20, scoring 23 goals with 42 assists in all competitions.

His efforts that season helped the Racers retain the Stuart Robertson Cup and clinch the NIHL North Cup for the first time.

Grigors, who is the first player to be announced by the club for the 2021/22 season, says he can’t wait to hit the ice for the club once again.

“I’m delighted to commit to the Racers for this season,” he said.

“It’s been a long lay-off, the longest I’ve ever been without ice, and I’m looking forward to getting going again.

“I’ve been training with Fife Flyers, but wanted to get back together with the boys at the Racers.”
