Wright keen to put frustrating year behind him on return to Murrayfield

Murrayfield Racers are pleased to confirm that Jack Wright will be returning to Edinburgh for the upcoming campaign.

The British-born player endured a frustrating first year with the Racers, with administrative issues and a serious shoulder injury interrupting his campaign.

Wright arrived in Scotland last summer with an impressive winter sports pedigree, having spent the previous three seasons with Villars HC in Switzerland and represented GB in skiing.

Despite the stop-start nature of debut season with the club, the 21-year-old says he is excited about linking-up with his teammates again next term.

“I really enjoyed being with the Racers last year,” said Wright. “I wasn’t sure how it was going to work with my university studies and if I’d have enough time, but it worked out very well.

“Although I did miss a lot of games due to injury and other reasons, I’m aiming to come back to this season ready to play as much as I can.

“There had been some questions regarding whether international students would be allowed back on campus with the COVID-19 situation and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to return.

“However, the university has confirmed that we are welcome to come back to Edinburgh, meaning I can’t wait to get back on the ice at Murrayfield. I’m looking forward to it a lot!
