Murrayfield Racers have continued their preparations for the 2020/21 season with the re-signing of forward Lewis Gold.
The 28-year-old linked up with the Racers last summer having previously iced for Solway Sharks and Dundee Comets.
He made a big contribution to the club’s success, weighing in with 10 goals and 22 assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.
An injury cut short unfortunately cut short his campaign, but Gold says he will be raring to go when the new season gets underway.
“I’m very happy to be back for another season of competing for trophies and enjoying my hockey,” he said.
“It was frustrating with my injury, but that’s part and parcel of the sport. It did give me time to focus on building my business and adjusting to fatherhood after the birth of my little girl, GG.
“The lockdown also gave me extra time away from the rink to focus on preparing my body for the new season, which is important.
“As far as ambitions go, I think we’re all aiming for a season full of success. The league gets stronger every year and there will be a lot of tough games.
“However, we’ve signed a great group of players, so I don’t see why we can’t bring more success to the club. We’re also very fortunate to have a fantastic fan base who play their role.
“I’d also like to thank all of our fans who work within the NHS and other areas of essential work that have done their part during the pandemic. I look forward to meeting them over the course of this season.”
