Murrayfield Racers are pleased to announce that Liam Danskin is the eighth player to agree another season with the club.
The ‘D’ man made 40 appearances for the Racers last term, scoring three goals with 28 assists in all competitions.
A product of the Fife junior system, Danskin previously bolstered his development by spending the 2016/17 campaign in Canada with the Ontario Hockey Academy.
He also played extensively for Scotland at junior level and twice represented his country in the annual U19 international against England at Conference Weekend.
The 19-year-old played an integral role for the Racers last season, helping the club win both the Stuart Robertson Cup and NIHL North Cup.
Having established himself on the Racers’ roster, Danskin says he is looking forward to helping the club continue to grow next season.
“I had a great year with a great group of lads winning trophies and making a big impact, especially in Whitley,” he said.
“The NIHL North Cup was a great experience, from playing against teams at a higher level to playing in the atmosphere that our fans bring – it was amazing!
“I feel I’ve improved as a player and I’m looking forward to another challenging season with the Racers.
“I’m hoping to make a big impact in the league this year and carry on my strong defensive game. I believe we’re capable of winning even more trophies.
“The season can’t come soon enough – it’s only May, but it’s been a long summer already and I can’t wait to get back on the ice.”
