Promising young forward Archie Holmes has agreed a second season with Murrayfield Racers.
The 17-year-old was previously a standout performer at junior level with Murrayfield and represented Scotland in various age groups.
He had also gained experience in both the Czech Republic and Canada, before stepping up to the Racers’ roster last summer.
Holmes went on to score 12 goals with 14 assists in 34 appearances, a tally which contributed to the Racers’ success in two cup competitions.
His form saw him selected by Scotland U17 for the Conference Weekend at iceSheffield, although the early curtailment of the season denied him the opportunity to play in the event.
With a full senior season under his belt, Holmes says he is eager to continue his development with the Racers next term.
“It was a big step up from the juniors, but I really enjoyed playing at a higher level,” he said. “It was a great opportunity to play over the three lines with more experienced players.
“Last season I felt was a development season for me. I built my confidence in the team and trust with the players as well as my skills.
“I really enjoyed the step up to the NIHL level as well. It was great to win the cup against a really good team.
“I’m really looking forward to next season. Hopefully we can keep improving and bring more success for the fans.
“I’ll be aiming to keep improving my game and will be looking to put up even more points for the Racers.”
