Murrayfield Racers are pleased to announce that Ross Borwick has agreed a third season with the club.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a productive 2019/20 campaign, bagging 11 goals with 24 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions.
A product of the Murrayfield Junior Ice Hockey Club set-up, Borwick has played a key role in the Racers’ success over the past two years.
The feisty forward picked up winners’ medals in the Scottish National League and Stuart Robertson Cup during his first season, and helped the team retain the latter trophy this term.
He also played in every game during the Racers’ memorable NIHL North Cup campaign that ended with victory over Whitley Warriors in the final.
“Last season was great,” said Borwick. “Winning the NIHL North Cup was some feeling and it was unfortunate that the season ended early as we still had plenty to play for.
“I thought I had a good season apart from the penalty minutes and I feel I gained good experience playing against the NIHL teams.
“The boys were great on and off ice – hopefully I’ll see them all again soon. Next season we’ll be aiming to keep the train moving and win even more silverware.”
