Another final place on the line as Racers go head-to-head with the Tigers

Murrayfield Racers host Dundee Tigers on Sunday aiming to book their place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

The Racers grabbed a 3-2 lead in the first leg at Dundee Ice Arena and will be eager to complete the job back on home ice.

Tony Hand’s side head into the game in a buoyant mood having clinched the NIHL North Cup last weekend with a dramatic victory over Whitley Warriors.

Callum Boyd’s overtime goal proved to be the decider at Hillheads as the Racers upset the odds to win the cross-border competition.

The Racers are on a recovery mission in the Scottish Cup having been narrowly beaten by Dundee Comets in last year’s final.

They were pushed hard by the Tigers in their first meeting, with Dean Walker’s goal in the final period securing a narrow advantage to take into the return fixture.

The Tigers are much-improved this season and currently look well on course to finish third in the Scottish National League.

They comfortably defeated North Ayrshire Wild to reach the semi-finals and can be expected to provide the Racers with a tough test this weekend.
