Murrayfield Racers are set for a massive weekend as they face Whitley Warriors in the NIHL North Cup Final.
The Racers host the Moralee D1 side at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Saturday, before travelling south to Hillheads for the reverse fixture the following day.
The two teams met twice during the group stage, with their first meeting at Whitley ending in a bad-tempered 5-3 victory for the Warriors.
However, the Racers gained their revenge in style in the return fixture as they secured a fully-deserved 7-4 success.
Tony Hand’s side went on to book their place in the final with an epic 10-9 aggregate victory over Solway Sharks, while the Warriors triumphed 13-5 overall against Billingham Stars.
Whitley have been in excellent form over the past couple of months, racking up 14 wins in a row in all competitions.
They need just one victory from their final five games to secure the D1 title and will provide a stiff test for the Racers this weekend.
