Murrayfield Racers bidding to finish 2019 with a flourish

Murrayfield Racers have a busy few days ahead of them on home ice as they bid to end 2019 on a high note.

The Racers host Kilmarnock Thunder in the Scottish Cup on Sunday, before facing Dundee Comets in the Scottish National League (SNL) on New Years’ Eve.

The quarter-final tie against Kilmarnock will be a one-off affair, with the winners going on to meet much-improved Dundee Tigers in the last four of the competition.

Tony Hand’s side have already recorded three comfortable victories over Thunder this term, beating them twice in the group stage of the Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC) and once in the league.

The Racers are in action again on Hogmanay as they welcome the Comets to Murrayfield Ice Rink.

The two sides faced each other twice in the group stage of the NIHL North Cup, with Murrayfield winning on each occasion.

The Racers also triumphed twice against the Comets in the final of the SRC last weekend to claim the trophy for the second successive year.
