Racers eyeing second spot as Lynx return to Murrayfield

Murrayfield Racers host Aberdeen Lynx on Sunday aiming to move up to second place in the Scottish National League (SNL).

The Racers head into the weekend fourth in the standings, one point adrift of both Dundee Tigers and Aberdeen.

The reigning champions have been beaten just once in the league this season and will be eager to build a winning run as they pursue runaway leaders Solway Sharks.

Tony Hand’s side have faced Aberdeen twice during December, recording a 14-1 aggregate success in the Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC).

They triumphed 9-1 on home ice before recording a 5-0 road victory to book their place in the final against Dundee Comets.

Those results extended Aberdeen’s losing streak to four matches in all competitions, but the Racers will not be underestimating them at Murrayfield Ice Rink.
