Murrayfield Racers hit the ice again this weekend aiming to bounce back from last Sunday’s narrow defeat at Whitley Warriors.
The Racers were beaten 5-3 at Hillheads in the NIHL North Cup and will be eager return to winning ways over the next couple of days.
Tony Hand’s side travel to Breahead Arena on Saturday to face a Paisley Pirates team that suffered a huge disappointment of their own last weekend.
Paisley had been hoping to join the Racers in the semi-finals of the Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC), but a 6-3 defeat at home to North Ayrshire Wild sent them crashing out.
Saturday’s game is the final game in the southern section of the SRC and the Racers will be keen to retain their 100 percent record in the competition.
They triumphed 9-1 in the reverse fixture at the end of October, but a closer encounter is expected this time around.
Murrayfield return to home ice the following evening to face Kilmarnock Thunder in the Scottish National League (SNL).
The two sides have met twice already this term, with the Racers recording two comfortable victories in the SRC.
The Racers have played just twice in the SNL this term and will be keen to pick up two points as they pursue a second successive league championship.
