Murrayfield Racers are set for a busy weekend with two important games in the NIHL North Cup.
The Racers face Dundee Comets at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Saturday (face-off 5.30pm), before travelling to meet Whitley Warriors (face-off 5.00pm) the following day.
Tony Hand’s side started this season’s cup campaign with a victory over the Comets, before narrowly losing to Solway Sharks in their next two outings.
Murrayfield were subsequently defeated by Billingham Stars in their fourth group game, but they are still in with a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
A victory on Saturday would move the Racers four points ahead of the Comets and put them in pole position to secure a place in the last four.
While the SNL pair battle to force their way into the knockout stage of the competition, Whitley are in good shape to progress to the next phase.
The Warriors have picked up seven points from their five matches and will fancy their chances of making it through.
They were comfortable 6-2 winners at Billingham last weekend and will provide the Racers with a stern test on Sunday.
