Murrayfield Racers travel to face Solway Sharks in the Scottish National League (SNL) on Sunday aiming to gain their revenge for two narrow cup defeats against the same opponents over the past few weeks.
The two sides met twice in the NIHL North Cup during October, with the Sharks winning by a single goal margin on each occasion.
The Racers led 3-0 in their first meeting at Murrayfield Ice Rink, but Solway roared back to claim a 4-3 victory – Scott Henderson bagged the winner with six seconds remaining.
The second fixture saw the Sharks lead 4-1 by the end of the second period, before the Racers battled back to level the game at 4-4.
However, Iain Bowie grabbed the deciding goal – once again with six seconds left to play – to secure the points for the Sharks.
The Dumfries-based outfit have swept all before them in the SNL this season, winning their first seven fixtures of the campaign.
They demolished Paisley Pirates 14-3 in their most recent league outing in Scotland and will present the Racers with a tough test this weekend.
The Racers triumphed 9-1 against the Pirates in the Stuart Robertson Cup last Sunday and will be eager to follow up at Dumfries.
