Jack Wright says he can’t wait to hit the ice after finally being cleared to play for Murrayfield Racers.
Administrative issues regarding the 20-year-old’s nationality status had delayed his debut, but the situation has now been resolved.
Wright will be in the line-up this weekend as the Racers face North Ayrshire Wild (A) and Kilmarnock Thunder (H) in the Stuart Robertson Cup.
The Racers have won their opening two matches in the competition and Wright is eager to help the team maintain their unbeaten record.
“I’m very excited to actually play a match and learn properly how the Racers play,” he said.
“I don’t feel like there’s much pressure. I just want to play my game – simple plays with not many mistakes.
“Hopefully I can the build on that when I get to know the chemistry in the team.
“I’ve never played in a team who speak English, so communication may be a bit strange at first although everything was fine in training.
“For the season I want to work on my offensive play and contribute to more success for the club.”
