Murrayfield Racers have secured the services of netminder Craig Douglas for the 2019/20 season.
The 29-year-old has spent the bulk of his senior career in Fife, icing for the Flyers in the Elite League and Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the Scottish National League (SNL).
Douglas, who also had a brief spell with Solway Sharks in 2014/15, says he is looking forward to joining the Racers and linking up with a familiar face from his junior days.
“I played at Murrayfield in my youth for just over two years and was alongside Mark McGill in my last season there,” he said.
“The main reason I’m signing for the Racers is due to the professional nature of the club. Tony (Hand) seems to have a great thing going here in Edinburgh.
“Speaking with some of the former Fife guys, the training is fast-paced and has purpose. Coming from the Flyers, I wanted a team that took hockey seriously.”
The Racers can confirm that fellow goalie Andrew Wright has informed the club that he is unable to commit 100% this season.
The 19-year-old is due to start a university degree this autumn and he has taken the decision to concentrate on his education.
The Racers would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
