Murrayfield Racers have added promising young forward Archie Holmes to their roster for the upcoming season.
The 16-year-old has been a standout performer at junior level over the past couple of seasons, bagging 98 points in 37 league appearances for Murrayfield’s U16 and U20 sides.
Holmes has previously represented Scotland from U11 through to U17 level, in addition to gaining experience in both Canada and the Czech Republic.
The forward will aim to continue his progression next season with the Racers and in the U20 league with Murrayfield juniors.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing at a higher level under great coaches and the experience I will gain playing for the Racers.
“Playing in the SNL will hopefully help me get into the Great Britain U18 squad under the new coaching team.”
Racers director, Willie Dunn, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Archie on board with us this season.
“He’s a talented young man and having the opportunity to work with Tony Hand should help him develop even further.
“As highlighted by Lewis Young accepting an offer to play in Canada, the Racers provide a platform for Scotland’s best young players to get themselves noticed.
“Hopefully Archie can continue to progress while helping the Racers chase even more silverware this season.”
