Murrayfield Racers have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season with the addition of Lewis Gold.
The forward boasts a wealth of senior experience, including a spell in North America during the early part of his career.
He returned to the United Kingdom for the 2011/12 campaign, grabbing 48 points in 21 games as Solway Sharks swept to the English National League Division 2 title without losing a game.
Gold subsequently had a couple of years away from the sport, but returned to action in 2014 with Dundee Comets.
He helped the team win the Scottish Cup and SNL play-off double in 2016/17, and went one better the following season as the Comets swept the board by adding the SNL title to complete the treble.
The 27-year-old has averaged well over a point-per-game at senior level and is another exciting addition to the Racers’ ranks for the upcoming campaign.
“I’m excited to get back on the ice competitively as I haven’t played in a while and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of a new era of hockey in Edinburgh,” he said.
“It’s also great to return to my hockey roots at Murrayfield. I’m looking forward to the challenges of facing NIHL opposition and doing my bit for the team in trying to bring more success to the club and to the Racers fans.”
