Murrayfield Racers face North Ayrshire Wild this weekend hoping to secure their second trophy of the season.
The two sides meet in the inaugural final of the Stuart Robertson Cup having finished top of their respective regional groups earlier in the season.
Murrayfield were unbeaten in the eastern section, winning six and drawing two of their eight games to finish one point ahead of Dundee Comets.
North Ayrshire topped the standings in the western group, finishing level on points with Paisley Pirates but qualifying for the final courtesy of a significantly better goal difference.
The Racers have won all four previous meetings with Wild this term, completing the double in the league and knocking them out of the Scottish Cup.
Tony Hand’s side first met North Ayrshire on the opening weekend of the season, with goals by Martin Cingel (2), Daniel Abercrombie (2) and Michael Ireland securing a 5-3 league victory.
The Racers also came out on top when the two sides faced each other in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup during October. They triumphed 4-2 on home ice and followed up with a 6-1 road victory to complete a 10-3 aggregate success.
The two teams’ fourth meeting in February was a memorable one for the Racers, as an 11-6 victory at North Ayrshire saw them clinch the Scottish National League title.
This weekend’s final is a two-legged affair, with Auchenharvie Ice Rink the venue for Saturday’s first meeting (face-off 6.30pm) while Murrayfield Ice Rink will host the reverse fixture the following day (face-off 6.00pm).
