Murrayfield Racers’ hopes of winning a second trophy this season were dashed as they slipped to a 5-0 defeat against Paisley Pirates in the final of the SNL play-offs on Sunday.
The weekend had started well for the Racers, with goals by Callum Boyd (2), Rihards Grigors and Aaron Robertson securing a 4-3 semi-final victory over Dundee Comets the previous day.
However, Paisley proved too strong in the final and claimed the trophy courtesy of goals by Adam Walker (2), Daniel Abercrombie, Martyn Guy and Chris Turley.
The Racers will now focus on the final of the Stuart Robertson Cup, with their two-legged tie against North Aysrshire Wild scheduled for Easter weekend.
Tony Hand’s side are also through to the final the Scottish Cup on Saturday, 11th May, against either the Comets or Aberdeen Lynx.
