Murrayfield Racers celebrated being presented with the Scottish National League trophy with a comprehensive 8-1 victory over Kilmarnock Thunder on Sunday.
The result ensured that the Racers ended the regular league season unbeaten after winning 14 and drawing two of their 16 matches.
Goals by Ross Borwick (2), Michael Ireland and Kyle Murray put the home side in control of the game and they never looked in any danger throughout the contest.
Martin Cingel and Ireland bagged further goals in the middle session to extend the lead to 6-0 at the second break.
Cingel added another in the third period, before Scott Gibb got Kilmarnock on the scoreboard in the 43rd minute.
Callum Boyd restored the seven-goal advantage after 47 minutes and the Racers went on to comfortably see out the game.
Murrayfield are back in action next Sunday when they visit Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the second leg of their Scottish Cup semi-final tie. The Racers lead 6-0 after the first meeting.
The winners will face either Dundee Comets or Aberdeen Lynx at the Scottish Cup Finals event on Saturday, 11th May.
The Racers’ next home game is their play-off quarter-final tie against Solway Stingrays on Sunday, 24th March (face-off 6.00pm).
This will be a one-off fixture due to ice time restrictions elsewhere. The winners of the match will qualify for the Final Four Weekend at Dundee.
