Promising Murrayfield Racers ‘D’ man Ethan Reid says he’s looking forward to the challenge of playing for Great Britain U18 this season.
Reid was one of five Scottish-based players chosen to represent GB at their World Championship tournament in Hungary during April.
The 16-year-old has been an impressive performer for the Racers this season, helping the club go unbeaten in Scottish competitions during the first part of the season.
He said: “At the start of the season making the Great Britain squad is always a goal I set along with many other players.
“It will be a proud moment playing my first game at an IIHF tournament for GB and one I’ve been looking forward to for many years.
“My hopes for the tournament are to play my role on the team, whatever that may be, and contribute positively on and off the ice.
“The team this year is strong and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in April. For now, I will keep working hard and prepare myself as much as I can for the upcoming months and the tournament itself.”
