Murrayfield Racers are through to the final of the Stuart Robertson Cup after a comprehensive 14-3 victory at Dundee Tigers on Saturday.
First period goals by Michael Ireland (2), Callum Boyd and Sean Donaldson set the Racers on their way in a game they dominated from start to finish.
Aaron Robertson and Rihards Grigors extended the lead to six goals early in the second period, before Callum Turnbull got the home side on the scoresheet after 25 minutes.
Racers responded through Grigors, Joel Gautschi and Ethan Reid to make it 9-1 by the 34-minute mark.
Graeme Carstairs pulled one back for the Tigers, but Boyd grabbed his second of the night to restore the eight-goal advantage.
Robertson made it 11-2 in the 46th minute and although Paul Guilcher pulled one back for the Tigers the result was never in doubt.
Boyd completed his hat-trick with seven minutes to play and two quick goals by Reid and Steven Clark completed an impressive success.
Murrayfield will now face North Ayrshire Wild in a two-legged final later in the season.
The Racers are also in action on New Year’s Eve as they face Team USA Military in an exhibition match (face-off 4.00pm). Please click here to purchase tickets for the game.
