Murrayfield Racers visit Dundee Tigers on Saturday aiming to book their place in the final of the Stuart Robertson Cup.
A victory over the Tigers would secure top spot for Murrayfield in the eastern group and send them through to a two-legged final against North Ayrshire Wild.
The Racers started the competition back in September with a 3-3 draw at Dundee Comets, before running out 12-0 winners on home ice against the Tigers.
Goals by Callum Boyd, Sean Beattie and Aaron Robertson secured a 3-2 success at Kirkcaldy Kestrels to put the Racers in a good position ahead of two meetings with Aberdeen Lynx.
Three goals in the final 10 minutes saw Tony Hand’s side recover from a two-goal deficit to beat Lynx 3-2 at home and they followed up with a comfortable 6-2 victory in the reverse fixture.
A 5-5 draw on home ice against the Comets kept Murrayfield in the mix for a place in the final and they improved their chances with a comprehensive 10-3 home victory over Kirkcaldy in their penultimate group game.
The Racers are also in action on New Year’s Eve as they welcome Team USA Military to Murrayfield Ice Rink for a prestigious exhibition match (face-off 4.00pm).
