Robertson puts Stingrays to the sword

Aaron Robertson was the star of the show as Murrayfield Racers swept aside Solway Stingrays in the SNL on Sunday evening.

Robertson weighed in with five goals as the Racers maintained their unbeaten league record with a comprehensive 15-2 success.

Martin Cingel (2), Joel Gautschi (2), Lewis Young, Sean Donaldson, Callum Boyd, Craig Main, Dean Walker and Ross Borwick were also on target for the home side.

The result leaves the Racers four points behind table-topping Paisley Pirates with three games in hand heading into Christmas.

Robertson told the Edinburgh Evening News: “When we have our full team rolling like that, we can give anyone a proper game.

“If we can keep clear of injuries, we can definitely keep this up and hopefully go the whole season undefeated – we’ll see how we go.”

Tony Hand’s side are back in action on Saturday, 29th December, at Dundee Tigers in the Stuart Robertson Cup.

A victory there would send the Racers through to a two-legged final against North Ayrshire Wild.
