It’s another busy weekend ahead for Murrayfield Racers, with the team facing two tough games on home ice.
The Racers host Hull Pirates in the NIHL North Cup on Saturday, before welcoming Dundee Comets to Murrayfield Ice Rink in the SNL the following day (both face-offs 6.00pm).
Murrayfield have started to see some light at the end of the tunnel on the injury front over the past few weeks and could have influential forward Callum Boyd back on the ice this weekend.
New signing Sean Donaldson will make his debut against the Pirates, while fellow new-boy Craig Main ices again after playing for the club for the first time last weekend.
Main has added further depth to the Racers’ defensive unit and he says he’s looking forward to facing two tough opponents.
“It’s great to be part of the Racers – we have great bunch of lads who are more than capable of winning big games,” he said.
“We have two hard games this weekend, but we can’t get ahead of ourselves. We need to be 100 percent ready for when Hull visit – we know they are a very good team.
“Sunday’s game will be just as tough. We had a good practice this week and I’m sure all the boys are ready for the weekend.”
